Sparkling wines have become popular in the US thanks to the popularity of wine-related social media channels, and the company said it will shutter the company in 2019.
The company said that its online wine delivery service had seen a 30% increase in orders in 2018.
“We’re seeing an increase in the number of orders coming through the platform every day and we’re really appreciative of the growth we’ve seen in the last two years,” said Sparkling CEO and founder, Chris Lacey.
“It’s great to see the support we’re getting from customers who are also looking for a wine delivery solution that’s flexible and convenient.”
While Sparkling did not provide an exact number of people it says it has received more than 7 million orders.
The company also said it was closing its website in January 2018, citing the growth in demand.
The Sparkling website was not available for comment.
Lacey said he was excited about the growth of the service, which has been available since it launched in 2018, but that he hoped the new platform would bring about a new era of wine delivery.
“We’re hoping that we can be able to provide an easy way to make your wine, which is really important to us,” he said.
“With the popularity, it’s been hard to make it as a small business.
We need to make this as simple as possible for customers and we can’t do that if we don’t make it easy.”
