As Spurs fans and commentators are wont to do, they are quick to point to their team’s dominance in the league, and how they have become the envy of the competition.
But the reality is they are playing in the Champions League group stages for the first time since the 2008-09 season and there is no denying the Spurs are still a team that needs to win the league.
The only thing missing is a home match, and that is unlikely until 2019.
They need to win a Champions League game to even get that far.
There are plenty of other clubs to take on in the next 12 months, but if Spurs don’t win the title, they will be without a trophy for years.
